"Oh power, more power"

Films: The Darkest Hour (2011)

Alias: None

Type: Alien

Location: Eldritch Location/Civilized Area

Height/Weight: Indescribable.

Affiliation: Evil

Summary: Aliens have come here for many reasons. Our world, our gold, our food, everything. But these ones want power. Not the kind that politicians seek. But real, electrical power. And if we happen to get in the way, so be it...

History: Descending from space as a collection of bright lights, these spectral aliens had one goal in mind. Namely, consume all conductive metal and harvest the planet for our energy. Humans are not their concern, but when we get pissy about the mass blackouts and people being disintegrated by their shields, they instantly go on the offensive. Soon, mankind teeters towards extinction as the aliens seek more and more power.

Notable Kills: It takes one touch of the shield before instant death...

Final Fate: After some aliens are finally killed through a combination of microwave guns and shards of their kin, the survivors broadcast this discovery to the rest of the world. If the destruction of an alien mining tower in Paris is any indication, we are finally pushing the menace back.

Powers/Abilities: The aliens are almost completely invisible, and have a shield that protects them from all and incinerates people into charcoal dust when they come into contact with it. They can also sense electricity, and use it to create limbs to grab things with.

Weakness: Pieces of each other and microwave-based weapons can break through their shields. Also, they are addicted to energy-based objects, and cannot see through glass.

Scariness Factor: 4-Sure, the CGI might be a bit spotty at times, but whomever came up with these things must have hated mankind. They are near-indestructible, can reduce you to ashes with one touch, and when fully revealed, they look like some kind of floating head with techno-organic tentacles. Be thankful few other alien races are so easily capable of annihilating the best that Earth has got.

Trivia: -The aliens are invisible at times because when this film was shown in theaters, the aliens could only be seen occasionally by 3D glasses. It just goes to show you how much of a fool's errand relying on that trend was.

-The filming for this was postponed for some time due to the 2010 Russian Wildfires. A fair reason, really.

Tickles, don't it?
"I really don't feel so good!"

This Ghostbusters production really went south.
For Christmas, we want salvation. Pre-packaged.

Looks like he's ready to give that the succ.

When they lose, they just kinda go to pieces.
